PASSION4PORCELAIN AND ALL THINGS BEAUTIFUL

About Me

This has all started when I was a little girl living with my grandmother in St. Petersburg (Leningrad back then), Russia. She had this wonderful statue of a little girl with a large dog at her feet. I had to know how she was made, but her head wouldn’t come apart unlike my many dolls. There was only one thing left – drop her on the floor and see what happens. That’s how I learned my first lesson about porcelain – it was strong and fragile at the same time. This combination of strong and fragile was intriguing and my passion for porcelain was born!

As time went by, I found myself working as a guide during summers, giving tours of European Art sections of Hermitage –  this treasure trove filled with objects of unbelievable beauty and historic value. I had access to many treasures not publicly displayed in Cold War Russia and I could spend hours looking and trying to remember colors, shapes, makers and purpose of all these pieces!

My fascination with European and English Decorative Arts never stopped. After moving to Unites States I continued to study this field, take classes  and buy ceramics, linens, glass, wood, prints – anything I found interesting and beautiful. I was fortunate to become a computer specialist and to work in San Francisco, Milan, Zurich, New York – cities filled with art museums, antique stores and antique markets  – perfect places to find treasures and to learn business of buying and selling antiques and vintage items

After spending over 30 years in computer business, I am finally able to dedicate my time to my passion…
